Ever gone to one of those 'budget traveler' web sites like Travelocity or Expedia, put in your reservation in, only to find out that half of the seats are taken? According to this article, they aren't taken, but reserved for people willing to pay full price for them. The way the airline industry has the whole scheme rigged so that you're roped into paying for the ticket and not allowed to cancel it is absurd. They can get away with it because they know people need to get from point A to point B and they have no other choice. Isn't that the definition of a Monopoly?
