I just read an article about the whole 'mad cow' thing, talking about how these 'downer' cows that were found to have the disease are used in fast food meats ("you deserve a break today" has a whole new meaning now....)... this is a quote from it.

"The technology, developed a decade ago, uses hydraulic pressure to force extra pounds off cow carcasses, producing filler for processed foods like hamburger, hot dogs and pizza toppings. Consumer groups initially complained that bone was getting into the advanced meat recovery product and argued that the product should not be labeled as beef. Then, in 1997, federal agriculture officials announced that they had found spinal cord tissue in some of the meat."

It's enough to make me want to vomit. Now I know why JO is always going on about how he never buys his hamburger already minced...he does it himself so that he knows what goes into it...Yeah so he doesn't end up with SPINAL FUCKING CORD in his back-yard barbeque burger!! bleeeeeck..
